here's what your spirit guides really want you to know.

You are not alone; you’ve never been alone. Earth school is epic, but it can feel awfully isolating at times. Especially when you begin to awaken into your spiritual journey. You may even feel secluded from your current community—possibly realizing your people aren’t your people anymore. But I’m telling you, spirit guides provide this unimaginable support—across the veil, and even awakening that here on Earth.
One of my favorite experiences that will never, ever get old as a psychic medium is introducing my clients and students to their spirit guides. In that moment, when they finally open their energy up and soften into the experience, I ask, “what are you feeling and experiencing?” Their cheeks lift, shoulders drop, aura melts into honey, and they say: “I feel deeply supported.” “I feel safe.” “I feel love.” “I feel protected.” In this experience, they finally remember their divinity—not only the divinity of their existence, but their access to divinity.
Spirit guides and the spirit realm is very abstract at first because we don’t see it. It’s a concept on movies, media, etc. We have been told that it’s a gift you must possess, you must be born with it. Only a select few are intuitive and can talk to spirit. That’s far from the truth. We are all waking up, remembering our innate divinity. Even though, I must be honest, I have always felt spirit with me and connecting to spirit has come potentially easier to me than others, but that’s because of many factors—my soul chose to do this work, I have a specific purpose, my birth chart, my empathy, yada yada. But that doesn’t make me any better, or any “closer” to spirit. We’re all close.
Your spirit guides, if anything, are dear friends.
They are not these strict and demanding teachers we grew up with, or if any kind of practitioner has made you feel that way. Any one who channels a part from the frequency of Love and Soul, they are not spirit guides, I’ll tell you that much. Even though spirit guides have many roles and do have knowledge as teachers, mentors, practitioners, potentially even “masters” in their work, that can still feel intimidating. They are, at the end of the day, our beloved friends. Spirit guides take great delight in guiding you, holding you, assisting you. Whenever you feel hesitant to introduce or talk to them, envision yourself talking to your best friend—the friend that allows you to show up fully as you are—and not in the “presentable” way, but also in the sloppy, chaotic way.
Spirit guides aren’t meant to be worshiped.
I mean, the fact that Jesus is worshiped as a God as created all sorts of, drama, you could say. He is an ascended master. He is a spirit guide to many. I even call upon him! Often. I remember I got star struck and dumbfounded when I heard you could “talk” to Jesus. Genuinely, it’s this bizarre worship that pedestals beautiful practices, beings and beloved spirit guides that make you feel like you need to have some kind of ranking in life. To be told or believe connection to spirit takes into account a caste system, is disgustingly false. Spirit guides, like friends, should absolutely be respected, appreciated, but if any spirit guide is asking you to go against your value system and authentic soul, they’re not a spirit guide. Altars are fabulous, books are incredible, ritual around spirit guides are amazing! I do them for Goddesses and deities all the time! But they’re sinking me deeper and imbedding me into deeper intention, connection and flow with my own gifts. I’m learning and experiencing my own authenticity through them.
They’re reflections of our own power, authenticity & spirit.
This goes back to the pedestal thing… let’s retrace our steps with this. If we are all One, as we know, everything is connected, we are all connected. That not only means us, the trees, the bees, the sky, but includes all dimensions, planets, stars, etc. So, why would our spirit guides be separate from us? And, you know the whole mirror concept—that we are all mirrors to each other of our own self? Spirit guides are no different. They mirror back to you YOUR SOUL. The delicious part about spirit guides is because they reside in the soul frequency, they mirror back to you your beautiful, magical soul. For instance, let’s go back to our boy Jesus—He mirrors back our divinity, our christ consciousness. Once I realized this, I felt even more empowered in my gifts. And, you’re going to love this: our specific spirit guides reflect back to us our own unique gifts, purpose and story. We have certain guides based on what we are meant to accomplish in this lifetime, what we’re meant to heal, who we’re meant to awaken into. Pretty frickin’ badass right?
Come as you are & as you want to be.
Yap to them in the car. Write a letter. Create an entire altar. They simply love connecting with you. I yap to them all the time when I’m in my car, or on the couch. I talk to them like a dear friend. I also have an altar, where I connect with them each morning. I have little talismans and tarot decks, crystals, etc. For me, it’s a fun way to build the intention and create a space. But you don’t need to do that. Spirit guides want you to come as you are, and as you want to be. They reflect back to you your own authentic spirit—so, what does that look like to you? What does that feel like?
They’re not just for angel numbers.
I mean, we can’t not love a good 111 on a license plate. But they’re not supporting you just to flash you a daily angel number. They have an entire universe of wisdom, life experience, access to dimensions and esoteric resource… UTILIZE THEM! They’re here to awaken magic within you and around you. My master guide Ishmael was the one I learned how to channel write with; Hathor was the goddess I began my divine feminine journey and sex magick journey with. Mary Magdalene plated key a role in my womb healing. Currently, Ganesh is with me on my money journey. Allow yourself to experience the vast portal of spirit guides, because you inevitably uncover the vast portal OF YOURSELF.
“Stop taking us so seriously; we like to have fun, too.”
Spirit guides are silly AF. They love fooling around with you. They love to have fun. Soul frequency is aligned with joy and laughter. I firmly believe one of the main purposes for existing as a human being is to have fun. The more we can genuinely enjoy ourselves as human beings, the more magnetic we become, the more potent our magic is, the deeper our connection to source is. When you connect with them, it doesn’t have to be this serious, dry vigil (OF COURSE, take your connection to source and reverence to God seriously), but you don’t need to be a jerk about it. The shame you feel about being too silly or weird isn’t from God, and it’s certainly not from your guides. The more you, the more fun, the deeper the connection. I have to say even, some of the most powerful readings I’ve had are when I’m laughing my a$$ off.
Connection to your spirit guides should never feel like a pulling a part of your competence, authenticity and worth. If anything, they empower you beyond belief and support your becoming.
